Tamworth Borough Council has successfully secured an extension of an antisocial behaviour injunction against tenant, Amy Hughes of Bloomfield Way, Coton Green, following a hearing at Nuneaton County Court on Tuesday 16 June.

The injunction was originally granted on an emergency interim basis in May after the council's neighbourhood impact team received reports from residents relating to alleged verbal abuse and other serious antisocial behaviour over a period of time.

Following the latest court hearing on 16 June 2026, the injunction has now been extended until 15 June 2027, providing continued protection for residents living in the area.

Under the terms of the order, the resident is prohibited from:

  • Using or threatening violence within the road where she resides.
  • Entering neighbouring gardens or premises within the road.
  • Throwing objects into neighbouring gardens.
  • Shouting, swearing or using abusive language within the road.

The injunction also carries a Power of Arrest, meaning police can take immediate action if certain clauses within the order are breached.

The court also awarded costs of over £1,100 to the council, which are to be paid by Amy Hughes.

Chief Executive Stephen Gabriel, said: “Everyone deserves to feel safe in their own home and neighbourhood. When antisocial behaviour has a significant impact on residents' quality of life, we will not hesitate to take action to protect our communities.

"This injunction sends a clear message that persistent antisocial behaviour will not be tolerated. I would like to thank the residents who came forward with information and the officers from our neighbourhood impact team whose work has helped secure this outcome and provide reassurance to the local community."

The council continues to work closely with partners, including the police, to tackle antisocial behaviour and support residents affected by it. Anyone experiencing antisocial behaviour is encouraged to report incidents so that appropriate action can be considered.
