Tamworth Borough Council is inviting residents to share their views on spending priorities and life in the borough as part of its annual resident and budget survey.
The survey asks residents about a range of issues, including their overall satisfaction with Tamworth, the priorities that matter most to them, their views on council services and spending, and how much they trust the council.
There are also questions about the characteristics of local communities and quality of life, helping to build a wider picture of what matters to people living in Tamworth.
The survey forms part of the council's annual consultation to help inform its budget-setting and future priorities.
Councillor Carol Dean, Leader of Tamworth Borough Council, said: “We want to hear from people across Tamworth about what matters to them and what they want to see prioritised in the future.
“The survey covers more than just the council budget. It gives residents the opportunity to tell us about their quality of life, their priorities for the borough, their views of the council and the services we provide.
“The feedback we receive will help councillors understand what matters to local people as we consider our future priorities and budget decisions.
“I would encourage residents to take a few minutes to complete the survey and share their views.”
The open survey will be available online from 22 September until 25 October.
Paper copies are available from Marmion House reception for residents who would prefer to complete the survey this way.
The council will review the responses after the consultation closes, with the findings helping to inform future budget and council plan decisions.

The stark financial reality
Tamworth Borough Council receives just nine pence from every pound of council tax paid by residents – around £191 per year for an average Band C property. The remaining goes to Staffordshire County Council, police and fire services.
This small slice of council tax, combined with business rates and government grants, funds a wide range of services including:
- Weekly bin collections and recycling
- Maintaining parks, open spaces, and street cleaning
- Tamworth Assembly Rooms, Tamworth Castle and local heritage
- Customer services, including benefit support and advice
- Supporting homeless people and housing advice
- Tackling antisocial behaviour
- Sports and leisure facilities
- Cemeteries
- Supporting local businesses
- Planning, food premises inspections and taxi licencing
