Tamworth Borough Council is proud to announce that they have once again been awarded the bronze animal activity licensing award in the RSPCA PawPrints awards, recognising the council’s ongoing commitment to protecting and promoting animal welfare.
This prestigious honour highlights the council’s continuous efforts to innovate and excel in protecting and promoting animal welfare. The RSPCA PawPrints awards celebrate local authorities, public bodies, and individuals for their pioneering work in animal welfare across England and Wales.
Tamworth Borough Council was recognised for their efficient processing of animal licensing applications and effective complaints handling from the public relating to licensed animal activities.
Councillor David Foster, portfolio holder for environmental sustainability, waste, recycling and transport, said: “We’re extremely proud to receive recognition from the RSPCA once again. This award is a fantastic acknowledgement of the hard work and dedication of our licensing team, who play a vital role in protecting animal welfare and ensuring high standards are maintained across licensed animal activities in Tamworth.
“Our officers work diligently with businesses to make sure they understand and meet their responsibilities, and take
action where standards fall short. Their commitment helps provide reassurance to residents that animal welfare is being taken seriously and that licensed businesses are operating responsibly.
“This recognition is a credit to the professionalism of our team and the positive work they carry out throughout the year. We remain committed to promoting the highest possible standards of animal welfare across the borough and working with our partners, businesses and local community to ensure animals are protected and well cared for.”
