Tamworth Borough Council is pleased to announce that Motivations, led by Fun Club Hub Youth Charity, has successfully reached its crowdfunding goal of £11,074, joining a growing list of community‑led initiatives supported by the We Are Tamworth programme in partnership with Spacehive.

Thanks to the generous support of local backers, including match funding from Tamworth Borough Council through the government’s Community Recovery Fund, the project will now deliver free informal educational workshops that help young people grow in confidence, provide one‑to‑one support, and create opportunities to improve wellbeing.

The programme will work closely with schools and colleges to deliver sessions tailored to the needs of young people. Through interactive workshops, drop‑in sessions and volunteering opportunities, participants will build confidence, strengthen motivation and develop the skills to become positive role models within their communities. In addition, evening youth activities will provide safe and welcoming spaces where young people can connect and thrive.

Councillor Sarah Daniels, portfolio holder for cooperative council, community partnerships and antisocial behaviour, said:

“Motivations reaching its crowdfunding target is fantastic news for Tamworth. This project is sparking ambition. Every workshop and every conversation is a chance for young people to discover what they are capable of and turn that spark into something real. By investing in their ideas and energy, we are not just shaping individuals, we are shaping Tamworth’s future. We are proud to support another initiative that strengthens our community and empowers the next generation.”

Kerry McCabe Crowley & Liz Bacon, joint managers of Fun Club Hub Youth Charity said: “We’re so happy about this milestone! As our first fundraiser, it’s amazing to see what we can achieve together, we can’t wait to see the impact Motivations Informal workshops will bring to the community. We are looking forward to delivering in 2026.”

Motivations is one of several community‑led projects funded through the We Are Tamworth programme, which supports ideas that build connection, inclusion and pride across the borough.

The We Are Tamworth programme is delivered by Tamworth Borough Council in partnership with Spacehive and funded through the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government’s £600,000 Community Recovery Fund. The programme was created following the civil unrest in Tamworth on 4 August 2024 to enhance community cohesion and rebuild social trust.
